Graeme Armstrong

Graeme Armstrong is a Times bestselling author from Airdrie, North Lanarkshire. His teenage years were spent within Scotland’s ‘young team’ gang culture. Alongside overcoming struggles with drug addiction, alcohol abuse and violence, he went on to read English as an undergraduate at the University of Stirling, where he returned to study a Masters in Creative Writing. He is currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Strathclyde.

His debut novel, THE YOUNG TEAM, is based upon his experiences and was published by Picador in 2020. It has been translated in Italy by Guanda Editore and in Spain by Automatica Editorial. It is currently being adapted for screen by Synchronicity Films. Most recently, Graeme presented a documentary for the BBC, SCOTLAND THE RAVE, exploring the history of rave culture and the Scottish PCDJ subculture.
